Simple of all flavoured rices is jeera rice and is excellent accompaniment with all dishesJeera or Zeera rice is a popular north India dish made of basmati rice slightly spiced and flavoured with lots of cumin seeds.
Ingredients:
Rice-1 cup
Water-2 cup
Cumin- 1 tbsp
Desi ghee- 2tbsp
Cloves-5
Red chilly-1
Bay leaf-1
Dal chini/cinnamon stick
Salt to taste
Dania to garnish
How to:
In a pan melt in ghee then add cumin seeds+all khada masala
Cook them till little brown
Time to add in rice and roast for 40 seconds
Now add 2 cups of water+salt
Cover and cook on a high flame till you get a boil
Now reduce the flame to low and cook for 7 minutes
Check after 7 minutes if all the water has evaporated or not
Now turn off the flame and let the rice be covered for 10 minutes
Time to serve hot!
